Partnership expands access and equity in youth soccer through scholarships and community impact

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – September 26th, 2025 – Carolina Soccer Factory (CSF) today announced the Empower Her Fund (EHF) as the official jersey sponsor for the 2025-26 season. The partnership reflects both organizations’ shared commitment to growing the game of soccer while creating opportunities for women and girls to thrive in sport and leadership.

The EHF is a group of 11 local and regional women’s business executives and civic leaders who are passionate about supporting women and girls in sports. As 23% owners of the Carolina Ascent, Charlotte’s Gainbridge Super League women’s professional soccer team that launched its inaugural season in 2024, the EHF is dedicated to breaking down barriers, setting new standards, and being a valued community partner. Their mission is to expand opportunities for women and girls while inspiring the next generation to pursue their dreams – on and off the field.

Carolina Soccer Factory, one of the largest after-school soccer programs in Charlotte and surrounding areas, currently serves more than 60 schools. Its mission is to make soccer accessible to all children, with programs designed to develop confident, creative players both on and off the field.

As part of this new partnership, EHF will sponsor 50 scholarships for underprivileged girls to play soccer through the CSF School Academy. Carolina Soccer Factory will match this commitment with an additional 50 scholarships, ensuring that 100 girls will have the opportunity to play this season with access to fields, apparel, coaches, a strong curriculum, and quality equipment.

“This partnership with the Empower Her Fund is about more than a jersey logo, It’s about opening doors,” said Tim Tretbar, managing director of Carolina Soccer Factory. “Together, we are investing not just in soccer, but in future leaders who will carry these lessons into every aspect of their lives.”

“We are thrilled to align with Carolina Soccer Factory in this meaningful way,” said EHF member, Kim Lewis, a founding member of the Empower Her Fund. “By supporting scholarships and making the game accessible to more girls, we are living our mission to empower the next generation of athletes, leaders, and changemakers.”
